Kindergarten – 6th Grade
The art curriculum for Kindergarten through 6th provides the foundation for understanding the visual arts. Students will explore and study artistic methods in various mediums to learn how to create artistic works of their own. The appreciation of art and how a piece is made come from integrated art history lessons appropriate for each grade level.
Upper School
Students will expand their knowledge and deepen their understanding of art history with a focus on specific master artists. The upper school students will also have the opportunity to create pieces in the respective artistic styles being studied. An overview of color-mixing, value scale, techniques in drawing, painting and more will be concentrated throughout the academic year.
